Scholarships

The Regents’ Scholarship encourages Utah high school students to prepare for college academically and financially by taking a core course of study and saving for college. The scholarship's academic requirements for 2019 will essentially stay the same. Students choosing classes based on the old scholarship requirements are still on track to qualify for the new scholarship. Many administrative requirements are being simplified.

The scholarship award amount will be determined annually based on available funds and applicants. Awards will be coordinated through the student's college to leverage all other financial aid opportunities and simplify the student's experience.

Stuents are now required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). However, a student does not have to qualify for federal financial aid to recieve the scholarship.

The Regents' Scholarship is funded by the state of Utah and administered by the State Board of Regents, and funding can vary year-to-year. The Regents' Scholarship is "stackable" with other scholarships, which means you can use it alongside other scholarships you earn to help you pay for college.

Zions Bank "Pays for A's"
Hardworking middle school, junior high and high school students (ages 12 to 18) in Utah and Idaho can earn $1 per "A" on their 2018–2019 report cards. (Sorry, “A-” grades aren’t eligible.)
Eligible students are also entered for a chance to win scholarship savings accounts worth up to $1,000.

How To Get Started

  1. Students should bring their most recent report card for the 2018–2019 school year and a parent or guardian to any Zions Bank.
  2. For every "A," they’ll get $1 deposited into a Student Savings Account. If they don't have an account or aren’t a Zions Bank® client, they’ll still be rewarded .50 cents per "A."
  3. Getting paid for an “A” enters the student for the chance to win a scholarship savings account in a drawing. The student’s name, grade, phone number, school name and city must be provided to be entered.

About Our Drawings

  • November 9, 2018 for fall drawing
